Trump is really making America great again

Sunday, February 19th, 2017

Just look at the progress made since the election:
1. Unprecedented levels of ongoing civic engagement.
2. Millions of Americans now know who their state and federal representatives are without having to google.
3. Millions of Americans are exercising more. They’re holding signs and marching every week.
4. Alec Baldwin is great again. Everyone’s forgotten he’s kind of a jerk.
5. The Postal Service is enjoying the influx cash due to stamps purchased by millions of people for letter and postcard campaigns.
6. Likewise, the pharmaceutical industry is enjoying record growth in sales of anti-depressants.
7. Millions of Americans now know how to call their elected officials and know exactly what to say to be effective.
8. Footage of town hall meetings is now entertaining.
9. Tens of millions of people are now correctly spelling words like emoluments, narcissist, fascist, misogynist, holocaust and cognitive dissonance.
10. Everyone knows more about the rise of Hitler than they did last year.
11. Everyone knows more about legislation, branches of power and how checks and balances work.
12. Marginalized groups are experiencing a surge in white allies.
13. White people in record numbers have just learned that racism is not dead. (See #6)
14. White people in record numbers also finally understand that Obamacare IS the Affordable Care Act.
15. Stephen Colbert’s “Late Night” finally gained the elusive #1 spot in late night talk shows, and Seth Meyers is finding his footing as today’s Jon Stewart.
16. “Mike Pence” has donated millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood since Nov. 9th.
17. Melissa FREAKING McCarthy.
18. Travel ban protesters put $24 million into ACLU coffers in just 48 hours, enabling them to hire 200 more attorneys. Lawyers are now heroes.
19. As people seek veracity in their news sources, respected news outlets are happily reporting a substantial increase in subscriptions, a boon to a struggling industry vital to our democracy.
20. Live streaming court cases and congressional sessions are now as popular as the Kardashians.
21. Massive cleanup of facebook friend lists.
22. People are reading classic literature again. Sales of George Orwell’s “1984” increased by 10,000% after the inauguration. (Yes, that is true. 10,000%. 9th grade Lit teachers all over the country are now rock stars.)
23. More than ever before, Americans are aware that education is important. Like, super important.
24. Now, more than anytime in history, everyone believes that anyone can be President. Seriously, anyone.

My husband is also protesting

Monday, November 14th, 2016

But he is only doing it online. He has been posting anti Trump links on his Facebook and posting campaigns for people to sign and writing to senators about his concerns about Trump and our country. My husband has never been this scared so he has been having anxiety about it. He is even getting into discussions about it online on Facebook with the senators and with other people who are Trump supporters.

Also I read that the protesters say they will keep this up for the next four years as long as he in in office. He isn’t in office yet but they don’t want him to be in office.

My husband has never been involved in politics until now and since people say they will keep this up for fours years, this tells me this is definitely not a tantrum and the fact my husband has never done this before also tells me. People are scared for their country and for themselves. But seriously I bet if many people would have voted for a president Clinton might have won to keep Trump out. I voted for Clinton to try and keep out Trump. But if Bernie were still running, I would have voted for him. But some people voted for Trump for the same reason I voted, to keep Clinton out because of the email thing. It was never clear to me if she was sexually involved with a minor or if she even knew about it except for her server was used for it by a guy and his wife worked for Hilary. But the majority did not vote for either president. My niece didn’t either so she put down Sanders.

But my question for the protesters are if they are neither Trump or Clinton supporters, who are they expecting to be president? If Trump doesn’t get it after all, then it goes to Clinton or would it go to Mike Pence? Do they want either of these people in office?

Fear for our country

Friday, November 11th, 2016

Trump won and ever since then protests have broken out and some riots. Then last night it finally happened in my city. I get off work and I had to be escorted out because they had put chains on the doors and there was a huge crowd in the park. I saw smoke and heard shots and then people left the park and I noticed graffiti on buildings and people hitting cars with their hands and circling around them and I saw some people getting into a car. They even had to close the train stop and then I was hearing rumors the protest had broken into a riot and I was told it’s not protestors rioting, it’s just people using them to make trouble because they will be blended in the crowd. They are not even part of the protest. But the media is reporting it as some anti Trumpers are rioting than stupid kids using the protest to make trouble. I’m anti Trump but I am not out destroying property but I am disgusted how anyone can vote for this monster, sexist, racist, homophobic, xenophoibic and rapist guy. I honestly couldn’t careless what happens to Trump supporters but going around destroying property for no reason just makes it all look bad and undermines the protest.

I am feeling we have another Hitler and we had voted for this guy and my husband and mother think things will work out because we have survived the bad times before and things always worked out at the end. Plus I have no idea if our country will split up because Oregon is talking about it now and so is California. I heard they want to build a wall around their state and that reminds me of Berlin.

I did even see a trash can lid on the ground and I had to wait half hour for the train because they delayed the trains even though no one was blocking them. I came home and watched it on TV and saw some of it live and looked at the Tweets and I was happy to see some protesters trying to stop the rioters and arrests have been made. This all told me to stay away from downtown at night and evenings because your car might get busted and it made me glad the auto shop my car is at isn’t even close to downtown so my car is safe from the riots. My mom doesn’t even call this a riot because she has seen worse and she thinks they are just exaggerating by calling it a riot. Nothing is being burned down and it’s just minor stuff like graffiti and broken windows and firecrackers but car are being hit with bats and a few of them were totaled at the dealership.

But people are really scared and living in fear now because Trump won. Plus more racism has broken out after he won because people think him winning is a free pass to be a open racist now so non whites have been getting harassed now. One kid in Eugene got suspended for calling a kid a nigger.

But if Clinton had won, I am sure this same thing would have happened by Trump supporters.  Plus there were people who voted for neither.

I am so ashamed to be an American but at least the protesting shows not all of us are racists, sexists, bigots, xenophobics, and homophobics. Honestly I wouldn’t care if our country broke up into different countries and if my state became their own country and California and Washington joined us. That reminds me of Russia and the Cold War. My husband thinks this is going to be a Civil War because he said that is how it started but I thought it started because of slavery and people wanted to end it.

I just hope this won’t turn into Germany and I hope Trump won’t invade other countries, let’s hope he isn’t that bad. I also hope we won’t go backwards in time and I hope our healthcare won’t go backwards.

Rush Limbaugh

Saturday, October 8th, 2016

My parents hate this person. I had never heard of him but I knew my dad liked listening to some guy on the radio and cussing at it and telling me what a jerk that guy is. I would always ask him “Why do you listen to him then?” and he would always answer “To see what more bullshit he says.”

So my mom and I were going to IKEA one time to return some stuff and then go to Ross and I bring this up and she tells me it’s Rush Limbaugh. None of them like him and she told me how upset my father always gets and then he gets short tempered and snaps at my mother because he is mad at the guy on the radio. Then she can’t even talk to him because he shushes her so he could hear him. My mom told him “Turn it off now, he is making you upset.” She also told me how she now refuses to be in the car with him if he will have that on. I asked my mother if my dad liked being upset or something because why else would he listen to him only to get upset and she told me she knows and she always tells him “why are you listening to this asshole, turn it off, you get upset and then you snap at me and are very irritable for the rest of the day.”

Mom told me many radio stations have dropped this person because they were losing their sponsers due to people boycotting their products. Then she explained to me how it all worked and how the stores were supporting him and the radio stations.

I also asked her for examples of things he has said that made him a jerk so she told me one of them. “We need to get rid of birth control because women should keep their legs closed. birth control makes them have sex.” Then she told me what a double standard it was. I told her I do have that same opinion too but I think that for both men and women so no double standard there. I think if they don’t want a baby, they shouldn’t have sex and if they do have a child, they are responsible for it if they choose to have sex. My mom then says how everyone should have the right to express love. Wait a minute, I thought she told me one time that people shouldn’t have sex if they can’t afford more kids and it’s the way it is sometimes. She does contradict herself. But she said how everyone had a right to sex and I said I guess it’s something I might never understand because I can live without sex and don’t need it and then I asked if Rush was asexual. My mom said he has had four wives. I said well we probably both know why they are his ex’s and my mom said ‘exactly he is a jerk and that is why they are his ex.” With his attitude about women, it’s no wonder they’re his ex’s.

Googling Rush Limbaugh for offensive things he has said I found several:

Hateful Misogynist Rush Limbaugh Tells Men That Women Mean Yes When They Say No

Article about his show going down:

He is entitled to his opinions and I don’t care what he really thinks. Just don’t listen to his talk show if he offends you so much and upsets you so much it ruins your day like it does for my father.

Something like this has always worried me as a teen

Wednesday, September 30th, 2015

Kimber Edwards is scheduled to be executed on October 6th for the convicted murder of his ex wife. But Wilson who did the killing confessed that he only acted alone and that he had lied about Edwards telling him to do it. Edwards was coerced into confessing and he has a form of autism.

As a teen I used to worry that I would get accused of a crime I didn’t commit or get put up to it or get tricked and in elementary school kids would pressure me and egg me to do things and I would always be the one in trouble. The school didn’t care if I was vulnerable and vulnerable to pressure. Sadly it’s like this in the real world too, if you are pressured or threatened to do something and taken advantage of, the judge wouldn’t care. I can understand about being vulnerable to pressure and Edwards had confessed so they would leave his family alone and the officers had threatened to involve his family so he just told them what they wanted to hear and be done with it. But now that Wilson has confessed, Edwards is still on death row waiting to be executed and I am wondering why is he still there and not free after the confession has come out?

There is also another man on death row named Richard Glossip and he is also innocent because Justin Sneed who did the crime said he had told him to do it and Sneed who did the killing, it was very obvious from the beginning he was lying because his stories were inconsistent and that was withheld from the jury. Now that fact has been out there and Glossip is still sitting on death row and he is a normie as far as I know because no one has mentioned him having any medical conditions.

This is the first time I ever heard about someone with autism being on death row but I am sure there have been others on death row and that some have been executed before. But a story like this used to be something I worried about all the time about what if it happens to me, what if someone sets me up or targets me. But worrying is a waste of time and these things rarely happen so why even spend my whole life worrying about someone I know might die and I get blamed for it because the person who does the killing says I told them to do it or the crime gets traced to me falsely somehow. I googled Kimber Edwards and saw old and new articles about this and not all of them mention his autism. He was apparently diagnosed after the sentence.

But there is one thing I know, never ever confess to crimes you don’t commit no matter what. Be strong, be tough. Even normal people have been known to confess to crimes they didn’t commit but they are probably less likely to, people with disabilities are more likely to and juveniles. I also know police will manipulate you by asking you things like “How do you think someone would rape a woman before killing her?” as their way to get the person to “confess” and officers will twice what you say and use what you say against you. I guess if you make a speculation or make up a story about how you would rape someone before killing them means you actually did the crime so you are confessing now. And anything you say they might say “A gun, I never mentioned a gun” and use that against you and assume you did the crime because you mentioned a gun.

But stories like these do teach me always so it lessons my worries.

So my husband thinks I am very black and white because I go to the extremes and I am all or nothing but yet it if it’s something I want, I am willing to compromise.

But there are lot of gray areas in life and I always realize how things aren’t always black and white so what does this have to do with what I want. One example is I believe women should get away with murder when they kill their abusers if there was no way out and I feel the same way about kids and parents. My husband told me that is getting what I want and I asked him “How?” and he explained that it would be something I would want so I imagine him abusing me so I would want to kill him. That makes sense because I am putting myself in their shoes and I wouldn’t want to go to prison for self defense but if going to prison meant protecting my own children from the abuse or myself from the abuse so jail would be better than being beaten or my own kids being beaten. I told my husband that victims should get away with killing their abusers because that would be one less violent person in the world. But my husband said “but what if they just said they were being abused?” and I said “They would have to prove it” and he said “But what if they couldn’t and everyone else never knew about it?” I told him he made a very good point. I am sure people have done killings and claimed to be abused and I am sure abused victims have gone to jail. Sure they would all say that but they could be lying you know.

Sure people would say they were abused and then be in jail because there are stories out there about it but they could be lying after all. I remember the time when Betty Lou Beets was executed for killing her husband and she claimed she was abused and her adult children made the same claim too about her. At 14 years old I thought it was BS and they were just saying that to keep her from being executed because if that were true, she wouldn’t have been on death row and executed but back then I was ignorant and naive about our system. Now after learning how messed up our system is (which is a good reason to be against capital punishment), it is possible she was abused but I wouldn’t know. I remember when Kelli Stapleton tried killing herself and her daughter and she also claimed she was being beaten by her and her youngest daughter. It is also possible she could have been lying to keep herself out of jail and it is possible she could have provoked and manipulated her daughter into beating her to make it look like she is a victim and the video she took could have been staged but I will never know. But I think what she posted online got used against her because what you put online is there forever and she made her comments public. I know she tried to make light of her situation by trying to add humor about it so she said things like “I want an abortion but I am 11 years too late” or “autistic people grow up and flip over cars and spin the wheels” and she wrote how she hates autism. I don’t really blame her because I would hate it too if I was being beaten on a daily basis and I would also say stupid shit but from what I understand, you never ever talk that way about your child no matter what. They could chase you with a knife because you didn’t know how to fix their computer or be kicked down the stairs because you wouldn’t buy them a new gaming system, and it still wouldn’t be okay for you to talk that way about them. Hell your kid could even be a psychopath and it still wouldn’t be okay to talk that way about your child. But yet psychopathy can’t be diagnosed if the patient is under 18. Your own kid can even be a predator and it still wouldn’t be okay to talk that way about them. I wonder if it becomes okay when they reach 18 years of age?  Would the sentencing for Kelly have been any different if she didn’t write those things online? But then again she is happy to be in jail because it’s treating her better than a “cell of autism.”

My dad had been telling me in my childhood that life is unfair, this is one of them.
